It appears one of Leicester City’s experienced goalkeepers could be on his way out after talks over a new contract failed to produce an agreement.

The veteran shot-stopper was offered fresh terms by the Foxes earlier this summer as the club assessed its options ahead of the new Championship season.

However, despite those discussions, no deal has been reached and his future now looks increasingly uncertain.

Asmir Begović arrived with a wealth of experience, having enjoyed a long career in English football and the Premier League.

His professionalism and leadership were valued around the dressing room, even when opportunities on the pitch were limited.

With Russell Martin beginning work as Leicester’s new head coach, attention has turned to reshaping the squad before the campaign gets underway.

The club has already made changes in several areas, and the goalkeeping department is expected to be no exception.

Supporters have been following the situation closely, with many now believing the goalkeeper is set to leave after negotiations stalled.

The latest update has only added to that feeling, with reports suggesting there has been no progress since the initial offer was made.

As one update put it: “Looks like he’s gone then.”

Another added: “He was offered a new deal by City in the summer but no terms have been agreed.”

Unless negotiations are revived in the coming weeks, Begović now appears likely to continue his career away from the King Power Stadium.
