Gary Rowett has opened up about the difficult spell he endured as Leicester City manager, admitting that a number of issues behind the scenes made it impossible to achieve the results supporters expected.
Speaking about his time at the King Power Stadium, the former Foxes boss reflected on a challenging period in which the club struggled for consistency despite efforts to turn things around.
He explained that the problems were not limited to performances on the pitch, insisting there were several factors that worked against the team.
Rowett said the squad found it difficult to build momentum, while injuries, low confidence and the pressure surrounding the club all played a part in Leicester’s disappointing campaign.
He admitted that every week presented a new challenge and that the team never managed to find the stability needed to climb the table.
“We were dealing with a lot of different problems at the same time. It wasn’t just about tactics or training. Confidence was low, injuries hurt us and we couldn’t build any real momentum,” Rowett said.

The former manager added that everyone at the club worked tirelessly to improve the situation, but the results failed to reflect the effort being put in behind the scenes.
His comments have sparked fresh debate among Leicester supporters, with many now looking back on that difficult period from a different perspective.
While opinions remain divided over his spell in charge, Rowett believes the circumstances made the job far more complicated than many people realised.
