Just In 🚨: Former Aston Villa captain reveals he wants to return to the club after Villa showed interest in him.

Aston Villa have reportedly discussed the possibility of bringing former captain Jack Grealish back to Villa Park, according to The Sun, with Unai Emery looking to strengthen his attacking options.

The Midlands club are preparing to part ways with Leon Bailey, who is set to join Hull City, leaving Emery in need of a quality replacement.

Grealish has emerged as a potential target following an encouraging spell at Everton last season.

Villa believe the England international could provide valuable depth in the wide areas as they prepare for another demanding campaign, with Champions League football on the agenda.

Emery has already seen Morgan Rogers and Youri Tielemans depart for Chelsea and Manchester United respectively, increasing the need for reinforcements.

Grealish, now 30, made 20 appearances for Everton last season before suffering an injury in January. He managed two goals and six assists, while creating 38 chances and completing 573 passes.

Villa are not alone in monitoring the former academy graduate. Everton are reportedly interested in bringing him back on loan, while Atletico Madrid have also registered an interest. Saudi Pro League clubs Al-Hilal, Al-Ahli and Neom are also keen.

Grealish spent eight seasons with Villa after 11 years in their academy, making 213 appearances, scoring 32 goals and providing 43 assists.

He joined Manchester City for Β£100 million in 2021 but struggled for consistency before rediscovering his form at Everton.
