Breaking News 🚨: Leicester City have confirmed that the striker they agreed a deal with has just failed his medical and will return to his club.

Leicester City have been dealt a blow in their search for a new striker after Dom Ballard completed a move to Championship side Bristol City from Leyton Orient.

The 21-year-old had been on Leicester’s radar throughout the summer following a standout 2025/26 campaign.

Ballard scored 23 League One goals, earning the Golden Boot, Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season awards, while also being named in the division’s Team of the Season.

Bristol City previously saw an offer rejected but have now secured Ballard on a four-year contract. The striker will join Lorent Tolaj, another League One forward who had attracted interest from Leicester.

“I am really excited to get going and join a big club like Bristol City,” Ballard said. “It is a club where I feel like I can really develop.

“I want to be a Premier League player, and the club wants to be a Premier League team, so the drive is there to do that.”

His departure leaves Leicester needing to explore alternative options as Russell Martin looks to strengthen his attack.

Former Luton Town striker Elijah Adebayo has been linked with the Foxes after spending the summer on trial at Bristol City.

However, uncertainty remains over his future after he missed Monday’s open training session. Bristol’s manager admitted the situation remains open, with both the club and player continuing to assess their options.
