EXCLUSIVE 🚨: Aston Villa have just reached an agreement for their fifth summer signing. Club-to-club talks are now underway.

Aston Villa have reportedly agreed personal terms with a relegated Premier League star as Unai Emery continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign.

The club are now involved in discussions over a potential £25 million move, with negotiations progressing and a deal potentially close to completion.

European football could give Villa an advantage over Everton, who have also expressed interest.

The player in question is West Ham United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with Football Insider reporting that club-to-club talks are underway.

Personal terms have already been agreed in principle, suggesting the 28-year-old could soon make the move to the Midlands.

Wan-Bissaka endured a difficult campaign as West Ham were relegated, but he remains an experienced and reliable Premier League defender. During the 2024/25 season, he completed 60 per cent of his dribbles and averaged 5.1 duels won per game.

His arrival would provide competition for Matty Cash while adding pace, defensive strength and experience to Villa’s right flank.

Emery is keen to build a squad capable of competing across multiple fronts, and Wan-Bissaka could offer another dependable option.

Villa have already suffered setbacks this summer, but a move for the former Manchester United defender could represent another sensible addition to Emery’s project.

Not every signing needs to be a superstar. Wan-Bissaka’s defensive ability, athleticism and experience could make him a valuable addition to a Villa side going through an important period of transition.

With talks moving forward, supporters will now wait to see whether Villa can complete the deal before the new season begins.
