Russell Martin has insisted Leicester City’s latest defeat will not be repeated, while admitting his young side struggled to cope with the pressure of a difficult afternoon.
The Leicester boss was speaking after another disappointing result, with his team unable to produce the response they would have wanted when the game became increasingly difficult.
Martin accepted that there were clear problems in the performance, but he was quick to stress that he understands what went wrong and does not expect the same issues to continue.
‘It won’t happen again, I’m not concerned about it happening again’
The Leicester manager also pointed towards the inexperience within his squad, suggesting that several young players found themselves facing a difficult situation they were not yet equipped to handle.

Martin believes the experience could ultimately prove valuable, although he knows Leicester must learn quickly and find a way to deal with challenging moments more effectively.
‘I feel I understand what’s happened today. So many young guys in a tough moment and we can’t quite get through it’
The comments will do little to ease the frustration among Leicester supporters, who will expect a significant improvement in the coming fixtures.
For Martin, the priority now is ensuring his players learn from the defeat rather than allowing it to become a recurring problem. The pressure will be on Leicester to respond immediately and show that their manager’s confidence is justified.
