Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from West Ham United, strengthening Unai Emery’s defensive options ahead of the new season.
The DR Congo international arrives at Villa Park on a season-long loan, with the agreement including a conditional obligation to buy.
The move gives Emery another experienced option at full-back as Villa prepare for another demanding campaign.
Wan-Bissaka, 28, came through the youth system at Crystal Palace before earning a move to Manchester United in 2019.
He spent five years at Old Trafford, making close to 200 appearances for the club and winning both the FA Cup and EFL Cup during his time in Manchester.
The defender subsequently moved to West Ham United, where he has spent the last two seasons competing in the Premier League and European football.

Wan-Bissaka also represented DR Congo at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, adding international experience to a career that has already included more than a decade at the highest level.
His arrival provides Villa with greater depth and competition in defence, while the structure of the deal gives the club the opportunity to make the move permanent depending on the agreed conditions.
Villa will now hope the experienced full-back can quickly settle into Emery’s system and make an immediate impact at Villa Park.
