Breaking News 🚨: Aston Villa have just confirmed the return dates for Goretzka, Manzambi and Madjo following their injuries. Here are the latest injury updates and the dates they are expected to return.

Aston Villa head into Saturday’s Premier League trip to Hull City with Unai Emery still waiting on several players to return to full fitness.

The Villans have endured a difficult start to the 2026/27 campaign, losing their opening two matches. A 4-0 defeat to Brighton was followed by a much-improved 1-0 loss against Arsenal, leaving Emery’s new-look side still searching for their first points.

Villa have undergone major changes this summer, with Morgan Rogers, Emi Martinez, Ezri Konsa, Youri Tielemans and Ollie Watkins all departing as the club rebuilds.

Leon Goretzka is the closest to making his Villa debut. The midfielder has no injury concerns but has been building his fitness since arriving from Bayern Munich. Emery has suggested he could feature against Hull, with a place on the bench the most likely outcome.

Brian Madjo remains sidelined after suffering a foot injury during his Super Cup debut against PSG. The teenager is not expected back until the Nottingham Forest clash on September 12.

Johan Manzambi has returned to training after recovering from a knee problem but is expected to be eased back into first-team action.

Leon Bailey remains absent with a muscular injury suffered in pre-season, although his future is also uncertain amid transfer speculation.

Amadou Onana faces the longest spell out. The midfielder is recovering from an ACL injury and is not expected back until late April or early May.
