🚨 BREAKING: Donyell Malen BREAKS HIS SILENCE on His Aston Villa Exit and Reveals Why He Left the club! 🔥😳

Donyell Malen has explained why he decided to leave Aston Villa for AS Roma, admitting that regular playing time was the main reason behind his departure from Villa Park.

The Dutch forward has enjoyed an impressive spell in Italy, quickly establishing himself as a key figure under manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

Malen has already scored six goals in five league appearances this season and is developing a promising partnership with Paulo Dybala.

Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, the 27-year-old made it clear that the decision to leave Aston Villa was entirely his own.

“It was me. I wanted to play, to be part of a team where I could step onto the pitch every weekend and be a player. At that stage, I didn’t feel like I was, but I think I made the best choice.”

The striker also credited his new surroundings, manager and teammates for helping him rediscover his best form.

“I think everything has changed compared to my previous experiences.”

“I’ve played a lot and everywhere, but today I think I’m in the right place with the right people. My coach and teammates give me so much confidence. All these things combined are helping me become what I dreamed of.”

Malen also highlighted the tactical differences between English and Italian football.

“In the Premier League, there’s a different philosophy; you never find defensive blocks like the Italians.”

His comments underline how important regular football and confidence have been to his resurgence in Rome, while Aston Villa will be left reflecting on his impressive progress in Italy.
