JUST IN! Foxes hit with MASSIVE €71.1m BLOW amid HEAVY points deduction hitting the King Power Stadium giants

Leicester City’s latest financial accounts have laid bare the scale of the challenge facing the club, with a pre-tax loss of £71.1m recorded during their lone Premier League campaign in 2024-25.

The figure pushes total losses across a turbulent three-year spell to beyond £180m, reflecting the cost of repeated promotion and relegation.

While that total appears to exceed the £83m limit set under profit and sustainability rules, the club believe they remain within the regulations once permitted add-backs are applied.

Spending on infrastructure, the women’s team and youth development is expected to ease the pressure, though scrutiny will remain intense following a six-point deduction issued earlier this season.

The financial strain has coincided with instability on the pitch. Two relegations in three years have left Leicester back in the Championship and facing a genuine fight to avoid slipping further.

Unsurprisingly, frustration has grown among supporters, with concerns over both performance and long-term planning.

Chief executive Kevin Davies has acknowledged the situation, insisting “improving” the club’s financial position “remains a priority and will continue to shape the decisions we take as a club”.

He added: “We know supporters want to see Leicester City run responsibly, with the right balance between giving us the best chance of success on the pitch and building greater financial stability for the future. These financial statements show there is still more work to do and we are clear about that.”

Despite heavy losses, ownership remains supportive, having previously cleared significant debt to steady the club’s position.
