The clash at King Power Stadium offered little in the way of aesthetic pleasure for Leicester City supporters.

While the Foxes displayed flashes of promise, the overall performance against Preston North End was marred by inconsistency and a worrying lack of cohesion.

Divine Mukasa and Luke Thomas were notable bright spots, navigating the pitch with composure that their more senior teammates often lacked.

Stephy Mavididi, too, offered brief glimpses of his natural trickery. On the right flank, however, the burden remains on Abdul Fatawu to convert his undeniable skill into a sustained source of threat. Consistency and concentration continue to elude him.

Patson Daka showed signs of growth relative to his own standards, producing moments of incisive play and clinical execution.

His one misfortune—a well-struck shot rebounding off former Fox Daniel Iversen—was nevertheless a demonstration of controlled and spontaneous footballing intent.

Beyond these positives, the performance was largely disappointing. Critics were unforgiving: Fatawu earned a modest 5, while Oliver Skipp struggled to dominate the midfield.

Jamaal Lascelles managed a 6, praised for positional sense but hampered by heavy touches. As the Mercury noted:

“Jamaal Lascelles: He wasn’t involved in too many big defensive moments, which may again show how good he is positionally. On the ball, he did seem a little slow at times, with his touch occasionally heavy. 6”

Most alarming was Jakub Stolarczyk, rated only 5, reflecting a defensive line that appeared porous and lacking structural rigidity.
