AdminLeicester City’s once-proud Premier League legacy has been left badly scarred.
Ten years after Claudio Ranieri guided the club to one of the most remarkable title triumphs English football has ever seen, the Foxes are now preparing for life in League One. For a club that was once held up as a model of smart ownership and clever recruitment, the fall has been both dramatic and deeply embarrassing.
Much of the progress made during Leicester’s golden era has been undone by years of poor decisions, leaving the club facing one of the darkest chapters in its modern history.
Ironically, former Leicester defender Christian Fuchs is now beginning his own managerial journey with Newport County. The Austrian was a key figure in Leicester’s title-winning side and remains a popular figure among supporters after making 152 appearances for the club.
While his start in management has been challenging, Fuchs has still spoken publicly about Leicester’s decline.
Fuchs on Leicesters relegation 🗣️
‘Obvious something has to change, whatever it is. But I believe the people in charge will make the right decisions to get the club up and running again to push for promotion next’
His comments may not sit comfortably with many supporters, particularly those who believe major changes are needed at boardroom level.
Fuchs clearly still cares deeply about Leicester, but some fans may feel his faith in the current leadership is difficult to share after such a painful collapse.
