The players we really need right now 😡😡😡: Marc Albrighton angrily calls out the Leicester City owner and reveals that if they really want the team back, they need to sign these players.

Leicester City must rebuild the character of their squad this summer if they are to repair the growing divide around the club, according to former winger Marc Albrighton.

The Foxes have sunk to a new low after dropping into League One, with major changes expected as the club adjusts to life in the third tier and the financial reality that comes with it.

Several players are expected to leave, creating room for new arrivals, but Albrighton believes the focus must be on mentality as much as talent.

“We spoke about how important recruitment is,” Albrighton said on BBC Radio 5 Live. “I don’t understand how they get rid of players and get them off the books, but whoever they bring in have to be good people.

“When I look at who we brought in before, yes we had Wes (Morgan) as captain, but there were four or five captains in that team.

I look at the squad now and I struggle to see one player that’s trying to get everyone together in the tough moments, saying: ‘Sit in for 10 minutes, be resilient, be hard to beat, be hard to play against.’”

Albrighton also pointed to the fractured bond between supporters and the club.

“Everything feels so disconnected. While it is disconnected, there’s no way of succeeding,” he said.

Former defender Robert Huth agreed, adding that mistakes in leadership have played a part, insisting Leicester cannot continue with the same approach if they are serious about climbing back.
