West Ham United boss Nuno Espirito Santo has admitted Jarrod Bowen was left deeply disappointed after missing out on England’s latest squad, with the Hammers captain still harbouring ambitions of playing on the biggest stage for his country.
Bowen has once again been one of West Ham’s standout performers this season, leading from the front during a difficult campaign and continuing to deliver with his tireless work ethic and attacking quality.

Despite that, the forward was overlooked for selection, a decision that has clearly hit hard behind the scenes.
Speaking about the winger’s reaction, Nuno revealed the conversation he had with his skipper following the announcement.
” I spoke to him he’s sad its something he really wanted to Achieve in his Personal Career playing in the world cup for England is very important”.
The West Ham manager was also quick to praise Bowen’s influence within the dressing room, insisting the England setback has not changed the standards he sets every day at the club.
“We are lucky to have Bowen as our Skipper and yes somethings dont go well but his work rate and Commitment and how he leads by Example makes us very proud of him”.
Bowen remains a key figure at the London Stadium and will now be determined to use the disappointment as motivation heading into next season.
