The fallout from West Ham United’s relegation continues to gather pace, with fresh uncertainty emerging behind the scenes as the club prepares for life in the Championship.
While speculation continues over the futures of several first-team players, concerns are also growing about the club’s ability to rebuild ahead of a campaign in one of English football’s most demanding divisions.

With significant financial pressures hanging over the club, player sales are widely expected as West Ham attempt to balance the books and reshape the squad.
Promotion back to the Premier League will be the club’s only objective next season, but that task appears to have become even more complicated following a key departure from the recruitment department.
According to club insider ExWHUemployee, a major figure behind the scenes has chosen to leave the London Stadium.
“West Ham’s Maximilian Hahn has resigned from his position as head coach [head of recruiting, surely? MT] deciding he will be leaving the club,”
Hahn’s resignation is the latest change at the club since relegation was confirmed and comes at a crucial time with the summer transfer window opening on June 15.
Whether the decision was already planned or influenced by manager Nuno Espírito Santo’s continued presence and the growing influence of super-agent Jorge Mendes, Hahn’s departure represents a setback to West Ham’s recruitment plans.
According to Ex and westhamway.com:
“The club are also expected to announce a new technical director to oversee the role in the coming week or so…… there will be a number of backroom changes at the club, as the club attempt to get promoted at the first time of asking this season.”
