West Ham United player Mohamadou Kante has publicly expressed his support for former club chairman David Sullivan, releasing an emotional statement during what he described as a “particularly difficult time” for the long-serving Hammers figure.
In a message shared on social media, Kanté reflected on the support Sullivan gave him during the early stages of his career, insisting the former chairman played a significant role in helping him through challenging moments.

The player wrote: “When I went through difficult times at the beginning of my career, he was one of the few people to trust me. He believed in me, supported me with patience and respect, and it meant a lot to me.”
Kanté made it clear that his comments were based solely on his personal experience, adding: “I can only talk about the man I knew and the help he gave me at an important moment in my life.”
The forward also stressed his faith in the legal process, saying: “I respect the work of justice and I have confidence that the truth will be established by the competent authorities.”
He concluded by offering his support to Sullivan and his family, writing: “I simply wanted to show him my human support and tell him that my thoughts are with him and his family in this particularly difficult time.”
The statement has generated considerable discussion among West Ham supporters, with many taking note of Kanté’s heartfelt message and public show of support.
