The Dutch winger continues to attract interest from across Europe, with AS Roma among the clubs credited with monitoring his situation. With a World Cup year approaching, Summerville will be keen to secure regular football and put himself firmly in the shop window, making further transfer speculation inevitable as the summer progresses.
That leaves West Ham facing a significant recruitment challenge. The club are already expected to lose Adama Traore following the expiration of his short-term contract, while Keiber Lamadrid remains an untested option out wide.
As things stand, the Hammers are desperately lacking genuine pace in attacking areas.
One player now being linked with a move to East London is Liverpool youngster Bobby Clark, who impressed during a loan spell at Derby County last season.
