David Moyes should be ashamed of himself 😡😡😡: Everton’s young talented star is set to leave the club — this is why David Moyes is responsible for his departure.

David Moyes is likely to face criticism following Demi Akarakiri’s decision to leave Everton, with the highly-rated youngster set to continue his development away from Merseyside.

Akarakiri has long been regarded as one of the brightest prospects to emerge from Everton’s Finch Farm academy.

Back in March, Goodison News exclusively revealed that the club were keen to secure the midfielder on a new contract and make him part of their long-term plans.

Those efforts have ultimately fallen short. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the 18-year-old is now on the verge of joining Italian side Cagliari, bringing an end to his time with the Blues.

The move appears to have been influenced by Cagliari’s commitment to youth development. The report describes Akarakiri as “one of the most exciting young players” in the country and suggests he could be given an opportunity to impress during pre-season before splitting his time between the youth and senior squads.

That pathway stands in contrast to Moyes’ reputation for being cautious when it comes to promoting academy players.

Several promising youngsters have struggled to break into the first team despite strong performances at youth level.

Braiden Graham has continued to shine in the academy, yet opportunities have remained limited. Harrison Armstrong featured only 15 times after returning from loan, while Tyler Dibling also found regular minutes difficult to secure.

Unless that approach changes, Everton risk losing more of their best young talents in the years ahead.
