AdminWest Ham United have officially discovered the road they must navigate in their bid to secure an immediate return to the Premier League after the release of the 2026/27 Sky Bet Championship fixtures on Thursday.
The schedule confirms a demanding campaign ahead for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side as they look to bounce back from relegation at the first attempt.
The Hammers will begin their season with a difficult away trip to Burnley on Sunday 16 August, with both clubs entering the Championship after suffering relegation from the Premier League.
The opening fixture has already been billed as one of the standout matches of the first weekend and will provide an early indication of West Ham’s promotion credentials.
Supporters immediately looked for the dates of the fiercely anticipated clashes with Millwall, and those fixtures did not disappoint.
West Ham will travel to The Den on 19 September before welcoming their London rivals to the London Stadium on 20 February in what are expected to be two of the most intense occasions of the season.
The fixture list also includes a Boxing Day meeting with Norwich City, while the Championship season will once again consist of 46 league matches as clubs battle for promotion.
Following a summer of change, West Ham’s supporters now have the complete fixture calendar in front of them.
The challenge is clear: turn Championship football into a short-term stay and ensure the club returns to the Premier League at the earliest opportunity.
