Club Brugge manager Ivan Leko has acknowledged the major changes Aston Villa have undergone this summer, insisting his side will need to produce an almost flawless performance to put Unai Emery’s team under serious pressure.
Villa have experienced significant movement in their squad during the transfer window, with several established players departing while a number of new faces have arrived.
Leko believes that situation could create challenges for Emery as he works to build cohesion within his revamped squad.
However, the Club Brugge boss is not underestimating Villa’s quality and knows his side will have to be at their best if they are to take advantage of any potential weaknesses.

“Like us, Aston Villa have had to integrate a lot of new players into the team and have lost some key figures.
We know we’ll have to be at the top of our game to really put them under pressure. To win, we’ll need to play the perfect match.”
Leko’s comments underline the scale of the challenge facing Club Brugge. While Villa are still adapting to their new-look squad, the Belgian side will be aware that Emery’s experience and tactical quality could make them difficult opponents.
For Club Brugge, the message is clear: there will be little room for error. Leko believes only a complete performance from his players will give them a realistic chance of securing victory against Villa.
