Ibrahim Mbaye has given Unai Emery something to think about after scoring for Senegal during the international break.
The Aston Villa youngster found the net as Senegal secured a 1-0 victory over Ethiopia in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
It was an even bigger boost for Villa, with record signing Nicolas Jackson providing the assist for Mbaye’s decisive goal.
Senegal manager Patrick Vieira was impressed by the teenager’s display and highlighted the qualities that make him an exciting prospect.
Mbaye joined Villa from Paris Saint-Germain during the summer for a reported £47m, while the club’s overall investment in the deal has been described as a record £65m.
“Ibrahim Mbaye is a versatile player. He is a player I find very interesting, who is also capable of playing centrally due to his speed of execution,” said Vieira.

“He manages to eliminate the opponent quite easily.”
The victory also handed Vieira his first win since taking charge of Senegal, although he admitted there is still work to be done.
“It’s true that it’s a first and that there are things to improve.
“Everything wasn’t perfect, but it gives us an option.”
Mbaye, 18, is yet to start a Premier League match for Villa, making substitute appearances against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham.
His latest international performance, however, could give Emery plenty to consider ahead of their return against Brentford on October 10.
