Two of West Ham United’s forgotten first-team players have returned to the spotlight after featuring in the club’s latest training photographs ahead of next weekend’s Championship meeting with QPR.
Maxwel Cornet and Adama Boiro were both pictured training at Rush Green this week, despite playing little part in Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans during the opening months of the campaign.
Cornet’s involvement is particularly notable. The Ivorian has not been included in a single Championship or Carabao Cup matchday squad this season, leaving serious doubts over his future at the London Stadium.
The winger has endured a long spell away from first-team football and has not played for the Hammers since their 5-2 defeat to Crystal Palace in April 2024.
Since then, he has been overlooked by Julen Lopetegui, Graham Potter and Nuno, while also spending time on loan at Southampton and Genoa.
Boiro, meanwhile, made his West Ham debut as a substitute against Derby County in September. However, the 23-year-old has not featured in a matchday squad since being an unused substitute during the 3-2 win over Bolton.

Soungoutou Magassa was also pictured after recently making his first Championship matchday squad against Millwall.
However, the photographs do not guarantee any of the trio will face QPR. Nuno has shown little desire to disrupt a side that has improved significantly in recent weeks.
Still, their presence confirms they remain around the first-team picture and are fighting for opportunities.
