Simon Jordan Issues Major Warning to Russell Martin as Leicester City Pressure Mounts
Russell Martin is facing growing pressure at Leicester City following another disappointing home defeat, with supporters increasingly questioning whether he is the right man to lead the club back to the Championship.
The 40-year-old recently clashed with a supporter following Leicester’s EFL Trophy defeat to Stevenage, highlighting the growing frustration among the Foxes faithful.
With Neil Lennon and Rob Edwards already being linked with the managerial position, Martin knows results must improve quickly to avoid losing his job.
TalkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has now delivered his verdict on Martin’s situation, warning that the Leicester boss is putting himself in serious danger.
Simon Jordan warns Russell Martin
Speaking on White & Jordan with Martin Keown on Monday, Jordan admitted that growing supporter frustration could eventually cost Martin his position.
Asked whether his dismissal was inevitable, Jordan replied: “I don’t know. I’m not watching enough of what Russell is doing.
“I listened to his interaction with a fan the other day, and he was trying to press his point across.
You don’t want Robbie Savage coming over as a Leicester hero with Peterborough in the first game back after the international and being 3-0 down after half an hour, so he’s got to get the team together.
“The more the fans keep on becoming disillusioned, and it spreads, it’ll get noisier and noisier and noisier, and unless he gets some results, he’s going to get fired.”
Jordan added that Leicester’s poor performances were putting Martin in a dangerous position, insisting that previous challenges could not excuse the club’s current struggles.

He said: “It doesn’t matter what the challenges are, it doesn’t matter what you inherited and doesn’t matter what your predecessors did or didn’t do, you have to make things better, your job isn’t to make things worse.
“I would have suspected Leicester would have been tipped as one of the favourites in that division to be successful, so Russell has to get on with it, so yes, I think he will find himself in mortal danger.”
Leicester have managed just two victories from eight league matches and sit 17th in League One.
Martin must find a solution quickly, with Doncaster Rovers visiting the King Power Stadium this weekend in a crucial test of his side’s progress.
