Leicester City manager Russell Martin faces a major selection headache following Conor Chaplin’s return from injury, with Kamari Doyle making a strong case to keep his place in the starting XI.
The 29-year-old joined the Foxes in the summer after leaving Ipswich Town, but injuries have disrupted his start at the King Power Stadium.
Before his 20-minute appearance against Doncaster Rovers, Chaplin had featured in just two of Leicester’s first 12 matches.
His absence forced Martin to experiment in midfield, with Sammy Braybrooke, Liam Cullen and Bobby De Cordova-Reid all given opportunities. However, Doyle’s recent performances have changed the picture.
The Brighton loanee impressed against Peterborough and Stevenage before delivering another outstanding display against Doncaster.
The 21-year-old linked up effectively with his midfield partners and scored the winning goal with a superb curled effort from the edge of the box.
John Lundstram and Louis Page have started the last four league matches together, leaving Martin to choose between Braybrooke, Doyle and Chaplin if he maintains his midfield setup.

Braybrooke also impressed against Doncaster, while Doyle has now delivered three consecutive influential performances when called upon.
Chaplin’s attacking qualities could offer Leicester another dimension, but he faces a difficult battle to reclaim his starting position.
Martin must also consider squad selection, with Admir Bristric and Wes Burns among those left out against Doncaster.
For now, Doyle appears difficult to drop, and Tuesday evening’s clash could reveal Martin’s next move.
