This looks serious: Leicester City have set the price at which they are prepared to let the Foxes’ fan-favourite player leave.

Leicester City are preparing for a significant summer reshuffle, with Abdul Fatawu emerging as a leading candidate to depart as the club grapples with the financial fallout of a £71m loss.

The Ghanaian winger remains one of the Foxes’ most valuable assets, yet reports suggest he could be sacrificed as part of a wider effort to reduce the wage bill.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, Leicester are already planning for life without Fatawu, regardless of how their ongoing relegation battle concludes.

Fatawu is understood to have a £30m buyout clause, though interest at that level has yet to materialise following a difficult campaign.

It is claimed that an offer closer to £20m could be enough to persuade Leicester to sell, potentially allowing suitors to secure his services for £10m below the clause.

The club’s financial position has sharpened the need for decisive action. Leicester recorded losses of £71.1m for the 2024–25 season, the third highest in their recent history, after heavy Premier League spending failed to deliver results and ultimately ended in relegation.

Despite the scale of the losses, the club are not expected to breach Profit and Sustainability Rules, having submitted compliant figures.

Previous accounts showed a £63.8m PSR loss in 2023, followed by a £6.1m profit in 2024, leaving Leicester within the permitted three-year threshold.
