Kasper Schmeichel has once again paid tribute to Nigel Pearson, recalling the Leicester City manager’s instrumental role during their 2014 promotion-winning campaign. Speaking candidly, the former Leicester captain said, “I can’t speak highly enough of Nigel – I really can’t.”

The Danish goalkeeper, who was a central figure in that remarkable season, praised Pearson’s methods and leadership style, which he says were crucial to the club’s success.

“From day one he has been brilliant. He has his way of doing things,” Kasper explained, highlighting the manager’s distinctive approach to both tactics and man-management.

Pearson’s influence, according to Schmeichel, was especially evident in the way he transformed the squad over the course of the season.

“He took a bit of time to change things around this season, he has got it exactly how he wanted,” Kasper added, emphasising the patience and precision that defined Pearson’s work behind the scenes.

The pair’s relationship, built on mutual respect and professionalism, played a pivotal role in Leicester’s rise.

Kasper’s reflections underline the enduring impact of Pearson’s tenure at the King Power Stadium, a period often remembered fondly by supporters as the foundation of the club’s later Premier League triumph.

Even years on, the praise is unequivocal. For Schmeichel, Pearson’s legacy remains clear: a leader whose vision, determination, and unique methods left an indelible mark on both the squad and the club’s history.
