DISGRACEFUL Mid mentality 😭💔: How all bottom-six managers’ comments compare to what Gary Rowett said after our disappointing draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

The Championship relegation scrap showed no signs of letting up over the Easter weekend, with a series of draws leaving the bottom six locked in a tense stalemate.

Blackburn and West Brom played out a goalless draw at Ewood Park, while Portsmouth were held by Oxford, and Sheffield Wednesday shared the spoils with Leicester City.

With no side moving up or down, the table remains tightly packed—but teams outside the drop zone now hold a slight advantage with one fewer game to play.

Blackburn boss Michael O’Neill was quietly satisfied: “(Tension) is natural at this stage of the season for the players, that we’re close to getting to a position of safety.

But we also know that you can be only a couple of results away from being dragged back into a difficult situation. We have to keep taking points.”

West Brom manager James Morrison reflected on his side’s momentum: “It keeps the momentum and we’ve seen that the results have gone for us again, so we’ve just got to keep getting the results and points on the board and keep moving forward.”

Portsmouth’s John Mousinho admitted mixed feelings after a hard-fought draw against Oxford: “It’s still extremely tight down the bottom…

In the circumstances, we’ll take it, getting the equaliser. We’ve got six games left and we’ve got to pick up as many points as we can.”

Leicester’s Gary Rowett refused to dwell on disappointment: “Not really. Had we won here, it’s not as though we’re then safe… But we’re not in any worse position, it’s just another game gone where we’ve not taken our opportunities.”

Oxford’s Matt Bloomfield added: “Nothing was decided (in the relegation battle) today… We still have five games to go and we’ll keep hunting.”
