Paco Jemez has revealed that West Ham United manager Nuno Espirito Santo has personally asked him to remain at the club as preparations begin for next season’s Championship campaign.
The experienced Spanish coach was part of Nuno’s backroom team during a difficult season at the London Stadium, one that ended with the Hammers suffering relegation from the Premier League.

With major changes expected following the drop, it had been widely assumed that Jemez would leave the club this summer.
However, the situation appears to have changed. Jemez has disclosed that Nuno has been in contact and is keen for him to continue as part of his coaching staff as West Ham attempt to secure an immediate return to the top flight.
Speaking to COPE’s El Partidazo de COPE, Jemez said: “Nuno called me and told me he wants me to stay with him.”
The Spaniard added that the West Ham boss had spoken openly about his “needs and concerns”, with further discussions expected before a final decision is reached on his future.
Jemez also reflected on the financial strength of English football compared to Spain.
“Any English team that want a Spanish player, if you take away the big three…will get him because they can afford him”, the coach added.
Despite relegation, Nuno has retained the backing of the West Ham hierarchy and will remain in charge.
The club hope he can repeat the success he enjoyed at Wolves by guiding them straight back to the Premier League.
