AdminIbrahim Mbaye has officially become an Aston Villa player, with the club confirming the squad number the exciting young attacker will wear during the 2026/27 campaign.
The highly-rated forward completed his move to Villa on Monday morning, arriving from European champions Paris Saint-Germain to become the club’s ninth signing of what has been a busy summer transfer window.
Villa have been working hard to strengthen Unai Emery’s squad ahead of the new season, and Mbaye’s arrival represents another major addition to their attacking options.
The youngster has already generated plenty of excitement following his move from the French giants, and supporters will now have the chance to see him in claret and blue after his arrival was officially confirmed.
His squad number has also now been revealed, bringing an end to the speculation surrounding which shirt he would wear at Villa Park.
Mbaye will wear the No.19 shirt for the 2026/27 season. The number was last worn by Jadon Sancho during his loan spell with the club last season.
The decision gives Mbaye a shirt with recent history at Villa, although the young attacker will be hoping to make the number his own.
With the new campaign underway, attention will now turn towards Mbaye’s first appearance for Villa and whether he can quickly establish himself as an important part of Emery’s plans.
The 19-year-old will be eager to repay the faith shown in him and make an immediate impression in his new surroundings.
