Russell Martin has addressed the absence of Admir Bristric and Christian McFarlane from Leicester City’s squad for their League One meeting with Stockport County.
The Foxes travelled to Edgeley Park looking to build on their recent performances and secure an important result, with Martin making changes to his matchday squad as he continues to assess his options.
However, the absence of Bristric and McFarlane raised questions among supporters, particularly with Leicester needing as much depth as possible during a demanding period of the season.
Speaking ahead of the game, Martin explained that the decision was not taken lightly and insisted that the club wanted to have as many available players involved as possible.

The manager’s comments underline the difficult selection decisions facing him, with competition for places increasing as Leicester attempt to find consistency in League One.

Bristric and McFarlane will now have to wait for another opportunity to force their way back into the squad, while Martin will hope the players selected can deliver the performance required against a strong Stockport side.
For Leicester supporters, the decision will inevitably remain a talking point, particularly as Martin looks to establish his preferred system and find the right balance within his squad.
The pressure remains on the Leicester boss to produce results, and today’s clash represents another important test of his plans.
