Pablo Felipe admitted he was left with mixed emotions after scoring his first West Ham United goal in Tuesday night’s narrow Carabao Cup third-round defeat to Fulham.
The 22-year-old finally opened his account for the Hammers on his 22nd appearance, producing an impressive finish from a tight angle to make it 2-2 after Benjamin Lecomte could only parry Mohamadou Kanté’s flick.
Morato had earlier scored his first West Ham goal to cancel out Rodrigo Muniz’s opener, before César Palacios restored Fulham’s advantage.
Oscar Bobb then struck 12 minutes from time to send the visitors through at West Ham’s expense.
“I’m very happy to score my first goal in this shirt,” Pablo said. “I was very anxious to be able to help the team and get that first goal, and it’s just a shame we didn’t get the result that we all wanted.

“I had another good opportunity to score when Jarrod [Bowen] crossed the ball. Unfortunately I couldn’t get to it, and of course there is disappointment because we had a lot of good chances in the game.”
Pablo believes West Ham can take confidence from their performance against Premier League opposition, despite the result.
“We have a lot of quality, and we tried to impose our game, but unfortunately it was decided on the fine details.”
West Ham now turn their attention to Saturday’s derby against Millwall at The Den.
