Leicester fans definitely won’t be upset: the Foxes star has revealed he will leave the club at the end of this season.

Leicester City’s defensive troubles have lingered far longer than anyone at the King Power Stadium would care to admit.

In truth, the rot set in several years ago and has shown little sign of recovery. Even the arrival of Wout Faes, intended to steady the backline, failed to provide lasting assurance.

There was, briefly, a sense of order under Enzo Maresca. For a single season, Leicester appeared composed and structured, but that now feels like an anomaly rather than a turning point.

The broader picture remains one of frailty, with this campaign exposing the same familiar weaknesses.

Goals have been conceded at an alarming rate, leaving supporters exasperated and increasingly resigned to what has become a recurring theme. The defensive unit, as it stands, looks in urgent need of a complete overhaul.

Against that backdrop, Caleb Okoli’s future has come under scrutiny. The Italian centre-back has struggled for consistency, and his departure would not come as a shock.

There is also a growing sense that several players consider themselves above the Championship, let alone a potential drop into League One. Okoli is among those attracting interest from Serie A, and Leicester may be prepared to listen.
