Kiernan Dewsbury-Hallβs departure from Leicester City has only reinforced the old saying that you do not always appreciate what you have until it is gone.
The academy graduate was always admired by supporters for his energy and technical quality, but there were times when his importance to the side perhaps went underappreciated.

Looking back now, many at the club will wonder how different the past two seasons might have been had he remained at the King Power Stadium.
After struggling to establish himself at Chelsea, Dewsbury-Hall has rebuilt his reputation with Everton, where his influence in midfield has become impossible to ignore. His form has been so impressive that calls for England recognition have continued to grow.
Long before that, however, he first made his mark at Leicester during a pre-season fitness test that caught the attention of the senior squad, including Jamie Vardy.
“On the first day of pre-season, I was with the first team and we did the Yo-Yo test and I remember I came first.”
“Everyone looked at me like, βWho is this kid?β”
“It was me and Vards at the end and people came up and almost asked, βWho are you? What have you been doing?β”
βI was like, βJust been working hard.ββ
For Dewsbury-Hall, that was the moment he realised he belonged.
βIt was that moment where I thought I had a chance because Iβd beaten them in the fitness test and I knew I am technically a good footballer.”
