Jarrod Bowen has issued an emotional apology to West Ham supporters following the club’s relegation from the Premier League, admitting the pain of the season’s collapse has left him feeling “embarrassment and pain”.
The Hammers captain shared a heartfelt statement on Instagram on Tuesday, reflecting on what has been one of the darkest moments of his career after West Ham’s drop into the Championship was confirmed.

“It’s hard to post something like this when all you’re feeling is embarrassment and pain,” Bowen wrote.
The England international did not shy away from responsibility, openly admitting the players had fallen short during a disastrous campaign.
“We just weren’t good enough. Simple as that. And that’s why the season ended the way it did.”
Bowen also apologised directly to supporters, praising the loyalty shown by fans throughout a miserable season both home and away.
“To the fans, you didn’t let us down once,” he added. “We should have given you more. You deserved more.”
Despite the disappointment, Bowen insisted he still believes West Ham can recover quickly from the setback and return to the Premier League where he feels the club belongs.
“One thing I know about this club is that it has the desire and fight to bounce back from this.”
His message has already sparked huge reaction among supporters, with many praising the honesty and emotion shown by the club captain.
