One of Leicester City’s promising academy wingers looks set to leave the club after reportedly deciding against signing a new contract.

The youngster was among several academy players offered fresh terms earlier this summer as Leicester looked to secure the futures of their emerging talents ahead of the new campaign.

He also spent part of pre-season training with Russell Martin’s first-team squad, a clear indication that the coaching staff were keen to assess his progress.

The player in question is Silko Thomas.

Despite that opportunity, it now appears Thomas has chosen not to accept the club’s offer, leaving his future away from the King Power Stadium.

The decision comes after a summer in which Leicester have been reshaping both their senior squad and academy setup.

While several youngsters have committed their futures to the club, Thomas now seems ready to pursue the next stage of his career elsewhere.

Training alongside experienced first-team players gave the winger a valuable chance to impress during pre-season, but it has not been enough to convince him to remain at Leicester.

No official announcement has yet been made regarding his next destination, although his expected departure is likely to attract interest from clubs looking to sign a young player with experience of Leicester City’s academy.

For Leicester, the focus remains on preparing for the new season under Russell Martin, while Thomas appears set to move on in search of regular first-team opportunities and a fresh challenge after turning down the club’s contract offer.
