Aston Villa are already planning for life without Ezri Konsa, with Unai Emery identifying AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori as a leading candidate to replace the England international.
Konsa is reportedly closing in on a move to Arsenal after the Gunners agreed a fee believed to be above β¬50m.
Arsenal are looking to strengthen their defence amid long-term concerns over William Saliba and Jurrien Timber, leaving Villa facing a major decision at the heart of their back line.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Tomori is open to joining Villa and reportedly prefers a move to the Midlands over other potential destinations.
Talks are understood to be underway, with Milan potentially willing to accept between β¬10m and β¬15m for the former Chelsea defender.

Tomori joined Milan permanently in 2021 after an initial loan and has since made 214 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing six assists. He also helped the club win Serie A in 2021-22 and the Supercoppa Italiana in 2024-25.
His experience in English football could make him an attractive option for Emery. Tomori previously made 27 appearances for Chelsea and enjoyed loan spells at Brighton, Hull City and Derby County.
Villa have already invested heavily this summer, signing Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes, Matteo Ruggeri and Zion Suzuki. With Konsa potentially departing, another defensive addition could now be next on Emery’s list.
