West Ham United returned to the summit of the Championship in emphatic fashion on Friday night, demolishing Wrexham 6-0 at the London Stadium in a performance that underlined their promotion credentials.
The Hammers were outstanding from start to finish, with Wrexham unable to cope with their individual quality or relentless attacking threat.
Jarrod Bowen, Joel Piroe, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Taty Castellanos, Mohamadou Kante and Manor Solomon all found the net as West Ham took their league tally to 20 goals in seven matches, and 27 in nine across all competitions.

With 39 league games still remaining, it would be premature to declare the title race over. However, if Nuno Espirito Santo’s side can consistently reproduce this level of football, few Championship teams will fancy their chances against them.
Their dominance was not limited to attack. Defensively, West Ham were equally impressive, restricting Wrexham to just eight shots, with only one finding the target.
Mavropanos even cleared that effort off the line, leaving goalkeeper Mads Hermansen without a save to make.
Hermansen later posted on Instagram with the caption: “Beautiful night at home.”
Piroe responded: “Was it a nice watch?”
The comment was cheeky, perhaps even disrespectful, but after a 6-0 victory, it perfectly captured West Ham’s dominance.
