A former Premier League-winning striker is set to leave Cremonese this summer after the club’s relegation was confirmed, bringing an end to his short spell in Italy.

The veteran forward will depart as a free agent following a difficult campaign that ended with Cremonese dropping out of the top flight.

Despite showing flashes of experience and leadership throughout the season, the club were unable to avoid relegation, forcing major changes ahead of the new campaign.

His future had already become the subject of growing speculation in recent weeks, with reports suggesting he was unlikely to remain at the club should relegation occur.

That has now been confirmed, and preparations are already underway for the next stage of his career away from Italy.

Jamie Vardy is not currently considering retirement and remains determined to continue playing despite approaching the latter stages of his career. Interest is already believed to be building from clubs in England, the United States and the Middle East.

The striker is said to be fully focused on securing what could be the final major move of his career as he looks for “a new chapter” following the disappointment of relegation in Italy.

Vardy leaves Cremonese with the respect of supporters, despite the club’s difficult season ending in heartbreak.
