Rav van den Berg could be heading for the exit door at 1. FC Köln this winter after struggling to establish himself since arriving from Middlesbrough in a €8 million transfer in the summer of 2025.
The Dutch defender has found regular first-team football difficult to come by, and his lack of involvement this season has now sparked speculation over his future.
According to Köln-based outlet Express.de, West Ham United are “showing strong interest” in the 22-year-old centre-back.
The Hammers were reportedly interested in Van den Berg during the summer transfer window, but they were unable to complete a deal before the deadline.
However, their interest appears to have remained, with the Premier League club potentially ready to revisit the situation when the January window opens.

A concrete offer could reportedly be made, with a transfer fee of around €15 million being mentioned for the defender.
Van den Berg’s current situation at Köln is particularly notable given his limited involvement since making the move to Germany.
The centre-back has yet to feature for the club this season and has made only 14 appearances for the Billy Goats since joining.
With West Ham monitoring his situation, the coming months could prove decisive. A January move would give Van den Berg the opportunity to secure regular football elsewhere, while Köln could potentially recoup a significant portion of their original investment.
